The sanitary trap acts as a pre-safety for the vacuum pump in the milking system. In case the milk overflows due to a malfunction that may occur in the receiving jar set, the ball inside rises and closes the vacuum inlet. Since the vacuum coming to the milking system is cut off, it prevents the milk from going to the vacuum pump.
